Ada and the Engine by Lauren Gunderson will be performed live at Edmond’s Driftwood Players during the month of March. The musical, set against the backdrop of the emerging British Industrial Revolution, follows Ada Byron Lovelace, the daughter of the flamboyant Lord Byron. Ada recognizes the immense creative possibilities within the “analytic engines” designed by her close friend Charles Babbage, the inventor of the first mechanical computer. Ada imagines a revolutionary world where art and information seamlessly come together, a vision she may not witness in her lifetime. This narrative weaves a tale of love, friendship, and Ada’s innovative dreams for the future.
Shows will take place Thursday-Sunday, March 1-17,2024. For the complete list of showtimes and to purchase tickets, visit here.
